About the event

Stress is a part of our daily life and human beings are designed to experience and react to it. Stress can be positive as it gears the body into action, keeping us alert and motivated, but it starts to become negative when change and challenges continue without relief or coping mechanisms.

Modern life offers many burdens ancient men did not dream of and they live in a state of intense anxiety.

Indian school of thought has dealt with human psychology thousands of years ago and provided practical solutions. Even though our challenges in the modern world are different than before, our reaction is still the same. Yoga which is one of the 6 orthodox Indian philosophies, gives us the root cause of human problems and ways and means to deal with them without getting distressed. Although the goal of yoga is not merely good physical health it is the side benefit of this beautiful science.

In this session we will look at:

The concept of stress in modern science and yoga.

Stress accroding to Bhagwat Gita, Patanjali yoga sutras and Yoga Vashitha.

Role of mind and the manifestation of disease from psyche to the somatic stage as per Yoga Vashitha and Patanjali yoga sutras.

Role of yoga as a therapy in the management of perceived stress and different ways to release pent-up stress with the help of yogic practices.

Practical session on Kriyas, Asana, Pranayama, Mantras, and Contemplative practices leading to meditation.
